Exams and X-Rays

Some people may not realize how important visiting the dentist regularly is! Going to the dentist at least twice a year can help you to save money and pain in the long run. If you go to the dentist more frequently the dentist will be able to determine potential problems that can be fixed very easily. While those who rarely go may have a lot more potential problems that get worse as time goes on.

When we do an exam for you our first step is cleaning the teeth. This is more advanced than just brushing because we scrape the tartar that you cannot get when brushing. This cleaning will prevent tartar in the future.

Then we go through and examine your teeth. We will look for any signs of tooth decay, swelling or redness in the gums, look for signs of teeth grinding, then check your neck, lips, gums, and mouth for any signs of infection or oral cancer.

X- Rays are only taken when your dentist sees a need. He may look for tooth decay under the gums, look at the roots of your teeth, or look for teeth that may be impacted. X- Rays may just need to be updated every 3-5 years.

There is no need to worry when you are attending the dentist regularly. We will provide you with the best services, so you can enjoy your semiannual visits!
